Associate Software Engineer Android Developer

We are seeking a passionate Native Android Developer with 1–2 years of experience to join our mobile product development team focused on building scalable, secure, and high-quality Android applications. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining Android applications using Kotlin while contributing throughout the application lifecycle, from development to deployment and post-release support.

The ideal candidate should have strong Android fundamentals, knowledge of Kotlin, and basic Java concepts. Experience with application deployment and distribution through app stores is essential. Flutter knowledge will be considered an added advantage.

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

∙Design, develop, test, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin.

∙Implement mobile application features based on business and technical requirements.

∙Build reusable, scalable, and high-performance application components.

∙Integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.

∙Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following coding standards and best practices.

∙Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues and performance bottlenecks.

∙Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions.

∙Collaborate with Product, QA, Backend, and UI/UX teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

∙Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

∙Play a key role in mobile application development and contribute throughout the complete software development lifecycle.

∙Support application release management and deployment activities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of hands-on mobile application development experience, with proficiency in the following areas:
• Proficient in Kotlin and Android development fundamentals.
• Good understanding of Java and object-oriented programming concepts.
• Experience working with Android SDK, Android Studio, and Gradle.
• Familiarity with Android components such as Activities, Fragments, Services, ViewModels, and Jetpack libraries.
• Understanding of REST APIs and JSON data handling.
• Experience with local storage technologies such as Room, SQLite, or Shared Preferences.
• Familiarity with architectural patterns such as MVVM or Clean Architecture.
• Experience using Git version control systems.
• Knowledge of Android app signing, build generation, and application distribution processes.
• Experience deploying and managing application releases through app distribution platforms such as Google Play Store.
• Good understanding of debugging, optimization, and mobile application performance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge or experience with Flutter development.
• Experience with Firebase services (Analytics, Push Notifications, Crashlytics, Authentication).
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and mobile deployment workflows.
• Knowledge of dependency injection frameworks such as Hilt or Dagger.
• Understanding of mobile application security best practices.
• Exposure to fintech, remittance, payment, or financial service applications.
