Entry-Level Energy Engineer – Utility Compliance (Outsourced Services)

Position Summary

This is a new company starting work from 1st week of August . We are seeking an Entry-Level Energy Engineer to support utility compliance programs for electric and gas utility clients (California Buildings). This outsourced role involves reviewing engineering documentation, verifying compliance with utility and regulatory requirements, analyzing energy efficiency project data, and assisting with technical reporting. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an interest in utility operations, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Review residential, commercial, and industrial energy efficiency projects for compliance with utility program requirements.
• Verify engineering calculations, energy savings estimates, and supporting documentation.
• Perform quality assurance (QA/QC) reviews of utility program applications.
• Analyze energy consumption and utility billing data.
• Assist with Measurement and Verification (M&V) activities for energy efficiency programs.
• Prepare technical reports and compliance documentation for utility clients.
• Coordinate with contractors, program implementers, utility representatives, and internal engineering teams.
• Maintain accurate project records in utility tracking systems.
• Support regulatory audits and respond to documentation requests.
• Stay current with utility tariffs, state energy regulations, and energy efficiency program guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or similar in:
• Energy Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Environmental Engineering
• Industrial Engineering
• Or a related engineering discipline
• 0–2 years of experience (internships or co-op experience preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data analysis tools is a plus
• Basic understanding of HVAC systems, lighting, motors, or building energy systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of utility energy efficiency programs
• Familiarity with utility regulations and compliance requirements

Responsibilities in an Outsourced Environment

• Serve as an engineering support resource for utility clients.
• Ensure projects comply with utility program rules and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate remotely with utility program managers and field teams.
• Meet service-level agreements (SLAs) and client quality standards.
• Maintain confidentiality of client and customer information.

Location Preference

Transportation

Candidates who own or have access to a commuter motorcycle or scooter will have an added advantage, as occasional travel may be required for work-related assignments.

Training & Travel

During the training period, employees should be willing to travel to Chitwan, Pokhara, and Delhi as required. All official travel arrangements and work-related expenses will be coordinated by the company.

Performance Bonus

Working Hours

Work schedules will vary depending on project requirements, with shifts ranging from approximately 5 to 12 hours per day. Advance notice will be provided whenever possible.

Work From Home Option

After successfully completing two months of employment and meeting performance expectations, employees may be eligible for a hybrid or remote work arrangement, allowing them to work from home based on business needs and managerial approval.
