Job Description

Main role and responsibilities:

A) Planning, Monitoring and Implementation:

 Take overall leadership in project planning, monitoring and reporting of the project funded under

Caritas Nepal with the support from Executive Director

 Take lead role in developing the detail implementation plan to ensure timely implementation of

project activities

 Prepare monthly work plan, individual work plan and monitoring plan as per project document and

organizational policy

 Ensure that State, DDMC, DCC, Local government collaborates with resources for sustainability for

implementation of project activities

 Work in close coordination with Caritas Nepal

B) Coordination and Advocacy:

 Coordinate with national and state level ministries and relevant stakeholders for policy advocacy

work and fund raising

 Build relationships with key stakeholders including the PDMC, DMC, LDMC, DCC and other district

stakeholders

 Develop and implement advocacy strategy in coordination with other stakeholders.

 Support team to organize team meeting, workshops, trainings and review meetings; mentor and guide

them and monitor their activities

C) Reporting and communication:

 Prepare monthly update and shares with Executive Directors and team.

 Review half yearly narrative report prepared by Program officer and forward to Executive Director

for final review.

 Maintain regular communication with related stakeholders and other partner organizations.

 Ensure that reports are submitted in time with quality standards.

 Take lead role in communication with government partners and related stakeholders

 Ensure disseminate of information to all concerned in a regular basis.

 Undertake responsibilities of overall financial management of the projects

 Ensure that website is updated regularly and timely.

D) M&E

 Ensure project monitoring and evaluation plan.

 Be responsible for regular monitoring and evaluating the performance of the community resilience

project.

 Carry out all other tasks as per need including organization of regular meeting, annual general meeting

etc.

 Support CDM staff to comply with government policy and adhere to donor requirements

 Manage all the compliances with SWC and Nepal government.

E) Organization and Program Development

 Take support role in new program development initiatives

 Support strengthen organizational capacity and sustainability of the organization

 Maintain regular coordination with Executive Committee and other partners/members

 Supervise all and undertake, as needed necessary administrative works effectively

 Develop mechanism to coordinate with EC members

 Lead staff recruitment activities including Development of JD.

 Organize meetings as directed by the EC as and when needed

Be accountable to the EC and be proactive to follow up all decisions of EC/CDM

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

 Bachelors’ Degree in Disaster Risk Management, Social Sciences, Agriculture, Rural development,

development studies and other related field. Master Preferred.

 Minimum 4 years professional experience in disaster risk management.

 Excellent coordination, collaboration and relationship building with development agencies,

government and donors.

 Well versed in project management including planning, monitoring, financial and budget management

 Excellent reporting and communication skills etc.

 Team building skills and ability to work in a team and

 Capable to undertake challenging task and different working conditions.

OTHERS:

-Support project management team for need assessment and to develop Project concept notes.

 -Other duties as assigned by Executive Director and executive board.
